I am a palaeoprimatologist and evolutionary biologist interested in the primate postcranium evolution and the origin of the positional behaviours of living apes and humans, as bipedalism. I have background in biology and palaeontology, and a set of technical skills which includes morphometry, 3D imaging, computer modelling, statistical analysis and engineering methods. My research seeks to identify the morphofunctional and biomechanical adaptations associated with the different orthograde locomotor modes of extant hominoids (the ape and human clade) and to reconstruct the evolution of their positional behaviours. I am particularly interested in the study of the fossil limb remains of the Eurasian and African Miocene apes by means of comparative anatomy, functional morphology and biomechanics.

I do palaeontological fieldwork both in Spain and Kenya. I lead the Creu de Conill (Spain) and Nakali (Kenya) fossil sites since 2018 and 2024, respectively.

I am committed to scientific outreach and public engagement, especially supporting girls and young women in STEM. I regularly participate in outreach activities for general public and primary and elementary school students.
